The West Virginia Bar Exam is held in February and in July. The West Virginia bar exam is a two day exam. The February 2010 West Virginia bar exam will take place on Tuesday, February 23 and Wednesday, February 24. The July 2010 West Virginia bar exam will take place on Tuesday, July 27 and Wednesday, July 28.
On day one, two Multistate Performance Test (MPT) questions and six Multistate Essay Exam (MEE) questions are given. On day two, the Multistate Bar Exam is administered. The MBE has 33 questions each for Contracts and Torts, and 31 questions each for Constitutional Law, Criminal Law and Procedure, Evidence, and Real Property.
In addition to successfully passing the West Virginia Bar Exam, an applicant must attain a score of 75 on the Multistate Professional Responsibility Examination. For taking the bar exam in West Virginia, the candidate has to have a law degree from an ABA approved law school. The application filing fee for the West Virginia exam is $375.
